Hi Catherine,

As a rule, Braillenote won't load Word 2003 upwards files, it will load
97/2000.  So if you want to be sure, save a Word file in that format.

Hi Mike,

Well I reckon there are pros and cons to all of them from reading
about them, though I've only actually seen two and used one.
Personally I use a BrailleNote and am very happy with it despite its
problems.  But I think whatever you do you should have a thorough look
at any unit before you buy, and preferably look at a few different
ones.  Also ask users what they like/don't like about what they're
using.  e.g. the BN has some annoying problems coping with some Word
documents (note I say "some" but so far I haven't figured out/noted
anyone else saying, a rule for figuring out which ones the BN will
have a problem with and which it won't).  The BN has other pros and
cons too and if you want to know more please write to me privately at
