Yes it does! At least the braille sense does.

Does the VoiceSense and BrailleSense have a screen? I seem to remember there was one at Sight Village for a very early model of the product.

Hi all

I'm using the VoiceSense, little brother of the BrailleSense that
comes without a built in Braille display but that supports the Sync
Braille portable display.

Got it from: Force Ten Co Ltd
in the UK.

I also use the BrailleNote mPower and find the VoiceSense much faster.

Most importantly, the VoiceSense did exactly what it's specs claimed
it would out the box.
Already did 2 upgrades via WiFi online without any problem.
It supports 5 modes of connectivity, 16GB CF and SD cards,
daisy/mediaplayer/radio, MSN, browser, word processor, database,
scheduler, address book, email, web browser, bluetooth manager, a
variety of utilities and option settings and context sensitive help.

OS = Windows CE 5.0.
Multi tasking is seamless.
Provides about 10 hours work per charge. Quick re-charge.
Comes with protective leather case, inbuilt microphone, headphone
socket and mini USB port.

Small and low weight but with ergonomic Braille keyboard; 9 keys plus
4 function keys and 4 arrow keys on top panel and media control keys
on front panel; the latter accessible when case is closed.

If you need more info let me know.

Well, that's my point.
I don't know a common assistive technology company in the UK
that sells
it...

If you don't know who sells it, how can you suggest that
you
can't get support for it??

George.

I don't think you can really get support for the braille
sense in the UK can
you?
BTW, who sells the braille sense in the UK anyway?

Mike as everyone says all have there advantages and disadvantages.
If you are concerned about UK support then effectively
there are only two
choices the BrailleNote or PacMate.
Then apart from the obvious stuff like how you like the
ergonomics of each product its down to what you want to do and
what
input method you
want and the support each option gives in these regards.
Very happy to chat off list if you want

Hi Mike,

Well I reckon there are pros and cons to all of them
from reading
about them, though I've only actually seen two and used
one.
Personally I use a BrailleNote and am very happy with it despite
its problems. But I think whatever you do you should have a
thorough look at any unit before you buy, and preferably look at
a few different ones. Also ask users what they like/don't like
about
what they're
using. e.g. the BN has some annoying problems coping
with some Word
documents (note I say "some" but so far I haven't
figured out/noted
anyone else saying, a rule for figuring out which ones
the BN will
have a problem with and which it won't). The BN has
other pros and
cons too and if you want to know more please write to me
privately at catherineturner2007@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi listers,

I'm looking to upgrade my Braille Lite to one of the
new notetakers.
Which one to go for is the question: Braillenote,
Pacmate Omni,
Braillesense, or any other? I appreciate that there are personal
opinions and sales views. Are there advantages of one
over another, or
is it very much a personal preference?

Any thoughts welcome,

Regards,

Mike
