Hi Andy

I am surprised VoiceOver isn't switched on after your update because DD
certainly announced himself once the whole process was completed.

There is a way of making VoiceOver turn on and off quickly, but you have to
set this up, least on the iPhone. I don't know if it works on the Touch.
You can do it by pressing the home key three times, but it needs to be
configured within Settings and then Accessibility I believe.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi Jackie and all -

I too have taken the plunge and updated the IOS on my Touch. I can see from
within Itunes that I do indeed have the latest software now installed, and
that the Touch has been restored with the back up. Unfortunately it looks
like Voice Over hasn't been turned on. Anybody tell me the steps that will
get me there without sighted help? I know if the only way is to go through
settings to accessibility etc, then help will be needed to find the correct
buttons to tap on, but I seem to recall that there is now a more accessible
way of turning Voice Over on, but could have dreamt that <smile>

Thanks -

Andy
