No, SPDIF stands for Sony Philips Digital Interface, so it's used for connecting the box to home theatre equipment which supports that standard.

I believe Pele the answer to these two questions is No as far as we are
aware at the moment. But you have a rather huge harddrive 500 GB to
store quite a lot if you wish.

Is it possible to record programmes on the TVOnics box and then move
them onto a computer or are they only stored on the box's hard drive?

Also, do you know if it is possible to record from other sources, such
as a video.
