Hi Eleanor,
If you are still having trouble uninstalling that program try the following.
It may be more ruthless than add/remove.
uninstall a program using command prompt with few simple commands.
Jaws cursor is used to read the result screen, PC cursor is used to operate
the commands.
1. Click Start Menu.
2. Click All Programs.
3. Click Accessories and select Command Prompt.
4. When the command prompt is open, type WMIC and press Enter.
The command prompt will then be:
WMIC: root\cli>
5. Now type command:
product get name
and hit Enter.
This command will populate a list of all installed applications on your PC
with the complete name of each
application.
It may take a few seconds to complete.
6. Now type:
product "exact application name" call uninstall
and hit Enter
Note:
Inside " " you have to write the exact name of the software you wish to
uninstall from the populated list.
Use Jaws cursor to read this list and note the name carefully.
Example:
product "VMware Tools" call uninstall
A prompt to uninstall (Y/N) appears, but is not read by Jaws.
7. Type Y to confirm the uninstallation process, or N to abort.
If Y then press Enter to uninstall the software completely.
8. Press ctrl c to exit WMIC back to the command prompt.
9. Type exit to go back to desktop.
Done

Well no Carol, it isn't quite like that. I tried to remove it and got the
error. It was after that, when troubleshooting that I tried different
approaches but even now the error remains the same. I have been advised
that if Alastair King can provide me with the uninstall tool then I should
be OK. However, like I said, I reinstalled and this time I was getting an
error 1500 so I gave up on that. Then I tried a custom install and that
worked so really at the end of the day, it is just sitting there, the
programme that will not remove/uninstall and I have my working copy again so
not much of a problem now.
Eleanor
