Import Your Outlook Express Address Book into Windows Live Mail

1. If you want to import Outlook Express contacts from a different computer
or old Windows installation: Copy the desired .wab file from the computer or
installation to the computer running Windows Live Mail.
2. After copying the .WAB file, go back to windows Live mail.
3. Now Select File "alt + F" then Import Windows address book (.WAB) from
the menu in Windows Live Mail.

Presumably you know how to save your address book from Outlook Express. If not, Open Outlook Express and go to Tools and arrow down to Address Book and Select. Now go to File and arrow down to Export. Select Export. A window will open similar to that of saving a file. Now you choose the drive you want to save to, presumably you will save to a memory stick. You will then need to give your address book a name. You could give it something like November 2011 Address Book. It will be a .wav file. Now go to Save.

Hi.

Ah OK, I see, must have missed that one.

Right, you should download Windows Live Mail which is part of the Windows Live Essentials package. You'll be able to import your Outlook Express address book directly in to this package.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Gef.

Hang on,, could you explain what you mean by “doesn’t support outlook”? Which version of Office are you using? I’ve personally tested 3 different versions of Office on my computer running Windows 7 and without exception they all install and work correctly. Outlook. If I’ve got the wrong end of the stick here then let me know by elaborating so we can help you further.

All the best, Ibrahim.
