Thanks Chris, I think someone else answered that for me. I am interested in the one for mobile but no good at ordering on-line, only managed to download and install the Quick Office because it was made so simple.

Is this the same total recorder that can be used on a mobile phone? -original message- Subject: [access-uk] Re: Total recorder versus goldwave? From: "Tristram Llewellyn" <tristram.llewellyn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: 16:03:2009 9:43 am I am little late on this thread but as pointed out already Total Recorder has stream loopback capabilities. It will as of version 7.x work on VISTA PCs where some time ago a number of people found their sound device did not support a "what you hear" or similar feature on their soundcard, Total Recorder in these situations will let them record the streams or their soundcard output. Upgrades are free as well. Regards. What do you mean by both apps? What you did there was background recording, which is a brilliant feature in Total Recorder, in which what you describe happens. GoldWave doesn't have any capturing capabilities, hence it recording everything! This is why I don't use it now and use Total Recorder instead. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Amro Bilal" <amro_bilal@xxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, March 15, 2009 3:46 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Total recorder versus goldwave? I only tried both apps very briefly., But I noticed one thing, Chris. When I recorded a BBC radio stream using Total Recorder, only the stream was captured. My screen reader's speech and the Skype call conversation I was having at the time wasn't. That's good! Perhaps both apps can be configured to do that? Goldwave recorded everything... Yes, the virtual device driver crashed my PC sometimes, but you can now install Total Recorder with either driver, bothdrivers, or no drivers at all. Hope this helps. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, March 14, 2009 6:17 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Total recorder versus goldwave? Chris, I have an old version of Total Recorder and stopped using it, mainly, because its sound drivers so often conflicted with things. Inaddition, Ifound its basic editing functions clunky, even to snip off ends of recordings. Maybe these are now improved greatly and I wonder if you could tell me just how versatile it is in terms of editing and how accurateitis supposed to be. -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, March 14, 2009 5:16 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Total recorder versus goldwave?Hello, Total Recorder is indeed very accessible, and is probably moresothan GoldWave. Total Recorder, the professional edition at least, allowsyou to record, edit, process, and convert sound. Recording sourcesincludeyour sound card's line in/microphone/"what you hear" input, as well as itsownvirtual device driver which captures exactly what's being sent toyoursound card. Total Recorder supports many file formats, including PCM WAV,MP3,WMA, and, with plug-ins, OGG and WMV, for example. The AudioRestorationplug-in is similar to GoldWave's noise reduction feature, however Ineverreally needed to use it so can't exactly say. You can download afullyfunctional evaluation copy, with the exception that a short portionofaudible noise will be inserted into each new recording about every 1 minute, from www.totalrecorder.com. Hope this helps. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266----- Original Message ----- From: "Ibrahim Gucukoglu" <ibrahim_gucukoglu@xxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, March 14, 2009 4:19 PM Subject: [access-uk] Total recorder versus goldwave? Hi Everyone. I'm currently using goldwave for my audio editing and conversionneeds, however Total Recorder has been recommended as an accessiblealternative. If someone has used or uses both applications, could they please givemea rundown of the features of TR and if possible a comparison? Lookingonthe total recorder site, I also see a number of plug-in. One that caughtmyeye was the audio restoration function, however has anyone used this andifthey have, what do you think of it?
