Hello Eleanor, sorry i should have asked this earlier, but here we go:

What subjects are you studying, and where are doing the work, at home or in
a college?,

Well that is a turn around from when I last asked a question reguarding
these social networking sights. It seems there is one rool for one and then
another for me.

Elenar,

The point is though it can be discussed on here. You're already on here and
w'ere not exactly a high traffic list as a whole.

So nobody's stopping you or anyone else from asking Twitter, Face Book,
Linked In, virtually any technology question on here. If it's VI access
tech related as in you're Blind/Partially Sighted, using AT to access
something then we'll give it a crack.

As I've said in my opinion there does come a time for another email list.
EG for a Screen Reader or take the Blind Sys Admin list for example.

Barry.

I think chris has a point. As yet I have not come to terms with twitter or
facebook but am certainly interested in doing so after my exams at the end
of October. Then I hope to concedntrate on getting to know these well in
November.

Barry,

I'm inclined to agree!

Now having said that for folk who may require answers about Twitter should
then this list be the way to go?

Haven't joined the Twitter community as yet but when I do I would like to be
able to ask possible questions on this list or if Chris goes ahead, on his.

There is a bit of info out there anyway on the Twitter matter for us!

The occasional question about Twitter I would imagine I'd be asking.

Best,

Tony Sweeney

Honestly, I think there's no need to create a list for such specific narrow
subjects. Not in the home-end-user blindness community. It's too small of a
market and these general access technology lists aren't' exactly over ran
with these topics. The list volume isn't' back breaking. I've always found
our UK lists on Tech quite light, compared to some of the lists state side.

Think about it this way what would people talk about if they moved to a list
for each Social Network, then each program, then each anti-virus, then each
version of that anti-virus etc. What is it they say, "variety is the spice
of life" in conversation as well as other things.<smile>

Furthermore, most people that ask a handful of social networking questions
on say BCAB or Access-Uk and get on the social network. Will then, start
using that social network to ask questions. Not only about the social
network but other things as well. It's one of the points of being on a
social network. Having a group of people who you can communicate with.
It's more customised for your way of thinking and is a resource where you
and others can share information as well as personal aspects of life.

Compartamentalisation is an effective tool but not used this way. I think
your motives are decent but there's watering down in too many lists.

So in a nut shell, I don't believe we're over run with discussions on
twitter here. Certainly not to the point where another list needs to be
created to handle all this traffic.

Regards,
Barry.
