Oh no, I just don't want to recall and blame the wrong person, I do have my
thoughts but it would be dreadful to name the wrong person.

Well if it was a list member that doesn't mean you can't talk about it.

It's a moderator that makes those decisions and will explain the reason.

  Cheers,

  Barry.

No it was not you and it was before you took over Barry. Maybe in the
archieves you will find something related to it. It was certainly within the
last 9 months but Saqib will remember because indeed I know he was severely
repromanded by a list member for asking the question.

    Elenoar,

This is the thing though. I'm asking when and what this subject was about.

I'm interested because there might have been a genuine reason or might have
been a mistake. If it was me who ended the topic and I was in the wrong I'll
hold my hands up. But I can't know this without more information.

    Cheers,

    Barry.

Yes he was told that Barry.

      Saqib,

      When, where, how?

I don't remember this. I'd not consider them off topic. What was your
question?

Perhaps you could start another thread with your question?

      Cheers,

      Barry.

When I last asked questions regarding Facebook and Twitter I was told
that my discussion was off topic for this list.

        Barry,

        I'm inclined to agree!

Now having said that for folk who may require answers about Twitter
should then this list be the way to go?

Haven't joined the Twitter community as yet but when I do I would like
to be able to ask possible questions on this list or if Chris goes ahead, on
his.

There is a bit of info out there anyway on the Twitter matter for us!

The occasional question about Twitter I would imagine I'd be asking.

        Best,

        Tony Sweeney

Honestly, I think there's no need to create a list for such specific
narrow
subjects. Not in the home-end-user blindness community. It's too
small of a
market and these general access technology lists aren't' exactly over
ran
with these topics. The list volume isn't' back breaking. I've always
found
our UK lists on Tech quite light, compared to some of the lists state
side.

Think about it this way what would people talk about if they moved to
a list
for each Social Network, then each program, then each anti-virus,
then each
version of that anti-virus etc. What is it they say, "variety is the
spice
of life" in conversation as well as other things.<smile>

Furthermore, most people that ask a handful of social networking
questions
on say BCAB or Access-Uk and get on the social network. Will then,
start
using that social network to ask questions. Not only about the social
network but other things as well. It's one of the points of being on
a
social network. Having a group of people who you can communicate
with.
It's more customised for your way of thinking and is a resource where
you
and others can share information as well as personal aspects of life.

Compartamentalisation is an effective tool but not used this way. I
think
your motives are decent but there's watering down in too many lists.

So in a nut shell, I don't believe we're over run with discussions on
twitter here. Certainly not to the point where another list needs to
be
created to handle all this traffic.

          Regards,
          Barry.
