Whilst I don't like it as much, having shopped online at Tesco a couple of weeks ago, I had no problems, so wouldn't say that it is inaccessible, just not as straightforward as it was in terms of moving around -

Why not report Tesco to the new venture being run by
www.fixtheweb.net

I'm sure that Tesco would be horrified to find out that their brand new accessible website isn't up to scratch.

Hi,

The problem is, as a 'group' 'we' really need to pick Tesco's, up on
what they've done.
I can't say too much, as I had to sign non-disclosure forms way way
back when, on the origional testing, of the previous web-site, but
basically I got the impression albeit quite a number of years ago now,
that Tesco haven't the faintest idea what they are doing, as regards
accessibility.
Alsot, this new site 'revamp', goes far far beyond screwing up the
accessibility for disabled user's, (well blind user's ) and goes well
into an utter fatiure of userability per sai.
I've had quite a few comments now, from totally non-disabled user's,
all of whom profess to prefering the original site as it was quicker
to use and do their weekly grocery shop.

Personally, speaking as en end-user, who's also vlind, I've just given
up after a few shops and moved over to Sainsburrys... I'd not call it
the most accessible site in the world, but its better than the new*
Tesco site, and, well personally I prefer some of their products to
Tesco's, though I'm pretty annoyed at having the choice taken away by
the descision of Tesco.com to make their site pretty-much
inaccessible....

Those who previously used Tesco online shopping but were finding it very
difficult to use since it was "upgraded" a few months back may not have come across the viewing options accessed from the My Account link. In here you can change settings from standard (which is not a great experience with a screen reader) to either Low Vision or Screen Reader. Strangely, the low vision setting seems to yield best results for screen readers such as JAWS
but then again, that may be a personal preference thing.

Haven't played with the features extensively myself but thought I'd let
people know so that they can have a play themselves...
