Vanja, I'll see what the N-Power Warm Response team comes up with in a
couple of weeks when they visit. I've also spoken to the maintenance
guys who look after our flats, and they would like to help but don't
have a suitable solution. I've found it isn't that people don't want to
help, they just don't know how to get round the problem.
I'll let you know what happens if anything.

I'm in exactly the same situation. We had a new heating system installed
in may and now we have this type of thermostat. In fact I think that
mine's exactly the same like yours Jackie. It has 2 buttons, going up or
down and yes you can count, but because it doesn't wrap sometimes you
just don't know what position you're at. When they were installing this
new system I approached the company that were doing the work, they said
that they're not aware of any way that any adaptation can be made to
these thermostats and that if there is it's totally up to the local
council as they own the property. When I approached them about it they
were very uninterested and simply kept saying that technically there is
nothing that can be done so basically tough, I gonna have to deal with
it the way it is. Sad to say, this attitude doesn't surprise me. Camden
has never been particularly friendly or approachable about anything, but
that's another subject for another place.

Hi John
I'm so glad you have raised this thread as I wanted to ask a question
about it on this list. My flat has a really technical electric heating
system that is beginning to drive me to distraction. Each of the
radiators can be timed and worked independently of each other. Then
there is the thermostat on the wall which has two buttons to move it up
or down to whatever degrees you want, and a panel inside that lets you
time it. All lovely if you have eyes to set everything!! (smile).
The problem I'm having is knowing what the thermostat is showing in
degrees. I've turned all my radiators off and put them on manually when
I need heat, or else the thermostat controlling the whole thing will
jump into life when I'm not in, and I don't want that as I'm out so much
of the time.
Does anybody know whether there is anything that will talk, allowing me
to get some speech feedback when using the thermostat, and how it could
be wired into the system? More to the point, could I insist my landlord
does this, or at least is prepared to look into it?
Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I have read
threads on similar subjects before, but it's always the same ... When it
doesn't apply to you and all that?
Jackie
