Hi Eleanor.

OK, on the back of the clock in a recessed area, you should find a button and a
switch. Place the clock near a window and press the button. The clock will
beep and begin searching for a signal and setting the time automatically for
you Give it 15 minutes and the clock should be fully set correctly with both
time and date. As for the hourly report function, this clock only reports the
hour on the hour between 8 in the morning and 10 at night, what it calls
sociable hours.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Yes Ibrahim font of all knowledge. You are correct. If you can tell me
anythng off list about setting it in terms of alarm etc I would appreciate it.
It did eventually set itself and started to announce the hour but I have
notjiced that it seems to have stopped doing that aafter 9.00pm. Maybe it has
gone to sleep!!! I wonder about setting the date too.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to respond to me.

  Eleanor

    Hi Eleanor.

Is the one you have with speech got a large face, dotted bar on the top for
getting the time and a two-button control under the face?

    All the best, Ibrahim.

I will find that out Barbra. At least the time set on the one that has
the large print only and not the speech. The one with speech and print letters
is still at January 1 and the time did not set. I think maybe I have to set
that myself.

Wall Clock from RNIB

          Hi
I purchased both of these items from RNIB. They arrived this
morning. I have put in the batteries. At the time of purchase I was told that
they would take their time from radio waves or something. In other words I did
not have to set the time. It happened automatically. Unfortunately this is
not the case and each clock started at 12.00. The one with the speech and
large letters is also stuck back on January 1st. I haven't a clue how to set
the time or the alarm on either. Can anyone help please? both clocks are
silver ones just in case that matters but would at least hellp with knowing
which ones I have purchased.

          Eleanor
