Hi Carol, I should think that unless your TV is HD all you'd need to do is plug in the Scart, on the back extreme left, the power, which is a little round socket below the scart, and the aerial in, which is extreme right on the back. That's if you're facing the front of the box. Obviously if you're facing the back of the box just reverse.
I should think that in most cases that'd do the job for every day use. John.----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

OK, thanks. Now just tell me what plugs in where and I'll be happy! <Smiles> I have read instructions but I'm better if someone tells me. -- Carol P----- Original Message ----- From: "john coley" <johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2012 8:48 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVonics Talking Freeview RecorderBy pressing the menu button again. I think it goes from left to right red, green, yellow and blue. According to the instructions, when you turn it on for the first time and press the blue button it's supposed to come up talking. In my case that didn't work. At first I thought I was going to have to get sighted assistance, till I went back to the instructions and found that they'd included the button sequence which, if followed correctly would turn on the talking features. I managed to do it, but only because I've had years of working with gear that doesn'ttalk. What it says in the instructions is:Without sighted assistance you may be able to activate talking features by using this button sequence. Follow this exact button sequence: menu, down, OK, down, down, OK, down, down, down, right. After a few moments, talking features should be activated otherwise return to TV and try the sequence again.John.----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2012 4:09 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVonics Talking Freeview RecorderJohn, I'm not quite clear what you were actually saying about the bluebutton here. So, how should one get the TVonics speaking without sight?-- Carol P----- Original Message ----- From: "john coley" <johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2012 11:27 AM Subject: [access-uk] TVonics Talking Freeview RecorderHi everybody, my curiousity got the better of me yesterday and I popped over to Judd Street and got a TVonics talking freeview recorder. I'm gladI did. Other than for a bit of a song and dance getting the talking features turned on, as pressing the blue button didn't work for me, possibly due to pressing it too late or at the wrong time the button press sequence was in the instructions, so I was able to turn talking features on.In answer to Tristram's question regarding the quality and stability of the speech it leaves the Goodmans standing. The speech is clear, withoutany dropout or stuttering. I think they've used the Emma voice. In answer to Will's question regarding whether or not it was possible to listen to a third channel while recording on two others no, you can't. One touch record is very handy. Hopefully one day they'll enable it todub recorded programmes onto DVD, but that aside I couldn't fault it.The remote's well laid out. I think the learning curve would be where a proceedure requires the pressing of one of the four coloured buttons, as which one to press doesn't seem to be spoken. As they do different thingsin different parts of the menus I can't see a way of marking them. Still, so far so good. As people have said on here previously it'swonderful that manufacturers are beginning to make mainstream equipmentaccessible.
