Hi Ibrahim, Very good, I will try that in the next few days. I presume I will need sighted assistance to do this? Aha, now I get ya. You can scrap what I said about reimaging your hard drive, once both drives are formatted in your new HD box and the software installed then I cant see any issues swapping between them in the event one or other should fail. I'd add that I don't know how the programs are stored on these drives, so you'd need to figure out and if necessary move your files from one drive to another, however that's a totally different ball game. I believe these drives are formatted for Linux as that's what the TVonics's boxes use as their operating environment. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Aedan O'Meara Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2012 10:17 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVONICS missing file Hi Ibrahim, Sorry, no I am holding the second drive as a backup for the TVonics HD box. What I am asking is if I take out the present drive in the HD box and put in the drive from the non-HD box which won't work here on the Irish system, can I then install the correct software from the USB stick? I would then hold the second drive as a backup if needed. Both drives are 500g sata. Kind regards Aedan. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ibrahim Gucukoglu Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2012 6:45 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVONICS missing file Hi Eden. Sorry, now you've lost me. As I understand what you're trying to do is copy programs from one box to another is this correct or have I got the wrong end of the stick. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Aedan O'Meara Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2012 6:13 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVONICS missing file Hi Ibrahim, If I just swap the drives and stick in the usb stick with the binaries would this work? As the non-HD drive is also TVonics would it not be already correctly formatted? Kind regards Aedan. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ibrahim Gucukoglu Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2012 11:53 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVONICS missing file Hi Aedan. a Proggy like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost should be able to do this for you, however beware, make sure you cloan the drives bit by bit as these boxes are fussy with the partitioning structure and any inconsistencies could either render the drive unrecognisable or force a reformat. You'll also need a couple of drive caddies for the drives. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Aedan O'Meara Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2012 12:51 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVONICS missing file Hi Mo, Can you advise on how I might clone a500g drive from a TVonics dtr-z500 non hd from my TVonics dtr-zhd500g? I have both binary files. If anyone is stuck I can let them have copies. Kind regards Aedan. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mobeen Iqbal Sent: Monday, September 03, 2012 9:08 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TVONICS missing file Hi Jeff. You may have to reload the speech file on the box. Put the TTS file on a memory stick, then pop in to settings, accessibility and see if there's an install option or if not, an enable option. if it doesn't let you install it, you'll have to format your hard drive and reinstall the TTS package. Let us know how you get on. Mo. On 03/09/2012 19:22, jeff flint wrote: I reset my TVONICS rceiver/recorder and the tex to speech file has gone.
