Hi George, as I suspected they confirm that only if a digi box is incapable
of receiving TV programmes is connected to a hifi you don't need a licence.
All digi boxes, including the Goodmans one are capable of receiving TV
programmes. It would only apply to a sound only digi box, and I don't know
if they make one. The only sound only device was the TV sound receiver the
RNIB used to do.
John.

There is some sound advice here (no pun intended), where I assumje
such an organsiation would have been very careful to get their facts
correct.

Hi,
Do you need a TV licence if you only use the set top box to listen to
TV?
Thanks,
