[access-uk] Re: TV licence

That's stupid. I wouldn't be happy as a licence fee payer if others can watch for free when I pay. The costs to the BBC are the same whether watched live or after broadcast.

Just a clarification to you all.
If you are only going to use the on-demand services like BBC iPlayer, a
license is not required, since you are viewing the program after it has
been broadcasted on television. Only if you are viewing programs while
they are being broadcasted is a license required.

Hi,

Strictly speaking you need a licence if you view BBC material on-line, so if
you have a laptop/monitor and view the BBC's iPlayer you would need one.

No I don't have a TV. I would like to connect the set top box to some hi fi
speakers and use it like that.

Hi,

Do you need a TV licence if you only use the set top box to listen to TV?

Thanks,
