Chris, you can't use news reader to actually open the attachment.  You have 
to save the attachment, unopened, into a folder on your hard drive, then use 
windows explorer to find the folder with the attachment in it.  Now arrow 
down to the file you want, but don't open it.  Do a context menu or right 
mouse click and arrow down to read using news reader and hit enter.  The 
news reader will then convert the file to HTML so that all the articles are 
in links which you can get to in the usual way with the tab key.
Hope this makes some sort of sense.
