I doubt if you would find anything like a similar variation in price among
dealers of the kind of accessibility equipment typically talked about on this
list.

Hi Steve and all

I do appreciate the genuine extra costs that a UK distributor of access
goods has, but I also feel that there are some that are just rip-off's. For
instance, I was looking for a shower seat for my mum recently. I went to a
specialist access company for the seat where the price was £79.99. My
sister went to B&Q and found the exact same seat for £17.99. I know that
B&Q have massive buying power, work on small profit margins with high
turnover and don't have reps, but that's one hell of a mark up.

Cheers

Barry

Hi Gordon,

What the US resellers don't pay is import duty. So the guy who discounts
for shipping in the US can't take account of UK import duty, which is hefty.

All the best

Steve

So U.S. retailers have the same range of costs to meet as their U.K.K
equivelents but U.K. prices are higher, is that right?
