Hi Barry,

Yes, these are easy. When you find a product, you often see special offer
link. If you open it, a new browser window opens and explains the offer,
and how long it is valid. No difficulty about that at all.

Sorry to hijack this conversation, Steve. What about special offers? Are
they easy to find?

Hi Carol,

Depends on what other facilities you mean. I use favourites extensively,
searches if products are not in favourites, e-vouchers, notes on specific
products, for example, we like under-ripe bananas, and that's about it, I
think. Any I have missed out?

OK, your instruction is fine and I know how to do both these things.
I'm interested to know, though, whether you just shop from your
Favourites and the occasional "Find" command, or whether you use any of
the other facilities offered?

Hi Carol,

I would say there are two things you need to know to get round the Tesco
site. One is your search commands, and button locators, and the other
is table navigation. If you are confident at those two things, you
should get round the Tesco site fairly efficiently. But if you are
always in a rush to get things done, you won't do it. It pays to study
that site a bit, and you will achieve exactly the same speed on the main
site.

Maybe you're right, Mark, and Steve obviously thinks so; but I hate
sites with loads and loads of links. If I don't take a regular look at
them all I feel I might be missing something, yet on the other hand I
don't want loads of them - so if they're not presented to me then I
don't look!

Hope that makes some kind of sense.

I took a look at the main site yesterday, and I must admit on a first
glance the access site definitely seems more straight forward. The
buttons and links for example just seem easier to navigate somehow, and
make more sense.

However part of this however is probably because I know my way around
the access site, and with a bit of practise I daresay the same could be
achieved with the main.

Cheers,

Mark

OK, Steve, it's time you gave us a bit of help then because I certainly
can't get round it that way!

Give us some tips, or keep quiet about your achievements! <BG>

Hi Carol,

I personally prefer the main site for a number of reasons. One of which
is that they allow you to store your credit card for future use, whereas
the accessible site don't, so checkout is a lot quicker. Also, you
can't use e-vouchers on the accessible site. Also you don't get all of
the special offers on the accessible site either. In short then, an
accessible site with no access to what you want, is no use at all. We
did a complete monthly shop on the main site last week, and it took 20
minutes. I now love the way that you can show all favourites in the
main site, just do a jaws or window-eyes find on what you want, hit the
add 1 to the basket button, then do a jaws find on the next item and so
on. I feel that the main site, is very quick now if you know your way
around it.

I have heard from a number of sighted friends that the normal site is
over the top for them and some prefer the Access site.

Hi Carol

If it does go, blame those that kept up the pressure to have just one
site.

Having; just 1 site clearly isn't going to make everyone happy.

I feel there is a need for 2 sites because:
There are some users that want, or need, a site that is quick, easy,
and not cluttered to use.

But there are also those that want every single detail.

Derek
