Thanks, David.  I haven't used Excel for about eight years so I wouldn't 
have a clue how to do this.  If anyone can shed any light on how it might be 
done in Excel, I'd really appreciate it.

I did this ages ago by transfer into Excel, effecting the change, and
then copying the result back into Word.
I can't recall how I performed the change in Excel though.
