[access-uk] Re: Subscription Address

Hi Douglas

This is interesting, as currently I do not get very much in the way of Spam. The Local Service provider here on the Isle of Man has a Spam sifting device which they call Spammaster, which automatically sifts through the mail and takes out the Spam sending me a digest of material that is supposed to be Spam twice daily. I have the feeling that some of the Yahoogroups list mail is being regarded as spam and returned to Yahoo, hence the bouncing. If however I am going to be faced with a large quantity of spam by moving to a Yahoo.co.uk list then it will need to be thought about again. From what has been said here, I am not so keen to make the change as I was.

One thing I am currently doing, is downloading mail every three or four hours, both day and night, to see if this keeps my inbox at Manx.net any more manageable, and hopefully goes some way to preventing the bouncing problem. Whether this will work or not it is too soon to say as I only started to do it yesterday.

Tony, I was plagued for several years by this Yahoo bouncing problem and solved it by using a free yahoo.co.uk address for subscribing to Yahoo lists. It worked, but the drawback was an unusually large amount of spam plus the fact that I tended to forget to use the correct account when posting to the list. I have recently switched to my Gmail account but it is too soon to tell whether I get bouncing again.

Hi Carol

I was led to believe that bouncing could be stopped by changing to Yahoo
by someone who lives in the U.S. Don't know what it is like in the U.k.
I suppose I can put up with it really. It is just that I get a bit
frustrated when it is happening at least once a week. I will see how it
goes in the future.

If there is anybody in U.K. who has experience of Yahoogroups running with
Yahoo as an ISP I would be interested to hear from them.
