Hi I am doing this on behalf of Brian.
I know there is a Rockbox list for this but I am now not subscribed so wonder
if someone could email Brian with thoughts on this issue please.
Email brianfc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Brian bought an Iriver 340 which he knew had a faulty battery at the time. He
bought one from Ebay which someone fitted for him, only to discover that the
Iriver was still not holding charge which had been the original fault.
Brian joined a worldwide site dedicated to Iriver from whence he found detailed
instructions with pictures explaining removal and refitting of battery and
advice as to which batteries to purchase.
Last night a friend fitted a different battery and now the screen is blank, it
will not charge and only just about turns on and off.
Here are some instructions from that list I was telling you about can someone
please explain how to carry this out in easy to understand language?
For Rockbox Users
Important: When booting the first time after reconnecting the battery, the
screen may stay black because of an issue in the bootloader. Force a boot into
the original firmware *once* to turn the backlight on.
You can change the capacity of the battery in rockbox once the new battery is
fitted. (General Settings > System > Battery Capacity) This is so that the
time remaining can be calculated correctly. This has no effect on runtime.
As I said above, please email Brian.
Thank you for taking time to read this and hopefully respond.
Mandy.
