[access-uk] Re: Sky Talker now available

OK Sky have just rung back and said that the box will read the name and synopsis for the programme you are currently on. Whilst it won't read the menus and list of recordings, it will read you the programme details if you go in to your planner and press to either play the programme or bring up the synopsis, so it will be quicker and more useful than my current method of having to play programmes in order to find out what they are. . So it doesn't sound perfect but it will be a big help compared to nothing at all. She also said it has nine voices to choose from. They don't know whether the device will be upgradable yet.

Yes except this little box will read all the functionality of the Sky Plus box so it means at long last we have an accessible recorder as well. I'll provide feedback to the list once I've received it and had a play. I might even do my first podcast!

What's the Sky Talker, is it similar to the new Goodmans Freeview box with
talking menus etc.

Hi, sorry if this has already been discussed but the sky talker is now
available. I've just ordered mine for £70. Not sure if my last messages got
through as I think I seem to have been unsubscribed for some reason, so
again apologies if this has already been discussed.
