Hi,

The Sky Talker won't be of any help with setting programmes to record. All it
will realy do is say which programme is being shown.

The box doesn't even say which recording is selected for playback until it is
actually playing.

I'm also convinced that the sound is slightly distorted by the Sky Talker.
I've compared Radio 4 on Freeview and Sky, without Sky Talker connected, and
they sound just the same. With Sky Talker connected, the Sky signal sounds
slightly tinny. I've checked all the cables are firmly connected. Having said
that, I've not heard of anyone else with the same issue so it may be a one off.

Lastly, the voice on the Sky Talker is dreadful.

given how many years it took to develop the sky Talker, it is hard to believe
that this is the best that anyone could do.

If you want a reliable way to set recordings via sky, then you might like to
take a look at the Remote Record feature available from sky's web site.

Alternatively, if you have either an IPhone or IPod Touch, then recordings can
be set using an app called TV Plus.

Regards.

Ian
