How do you set it all up in the first place then? Does it cost to use this feature? Trace----- Original Message ----- From: "martin wilsher" <m.wilsher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi will:You go to sky.com regiser with my sky, then set up the remote record on your sky plus box. This process is not currently accessible. Once everything isset up however, log into my sky on sky.com and then go to tv listings asTerry detailed in another message. There is a screen reader version of the listings, but due to a screwup on sky's behalf, the remote record feature isbusted down this route. You need to use the less accessible flashy new tv guide. As Terry said, it's doable, but it's a pain in the neck really. A case of sky revamping their site and then getting in a flap when it waspointed out they'd forgotten accessible listings. In a panic, they put themback up, but the remote record feature got busted for that side of things. -----Original Message-----From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf OfWill Lomas Sent: 18 November 2008 10:06 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Sky Plus what does this feature do?if i were to get sky plus when i get my own place to live can sighted peopleuse the web to send a message to record when they want?so it is like having that freeview box from portset and setting it to recordhow do i then find the programs after recording them On 18 Nov 2008, at 09:53, Terry Clasper wrote:Martin absolutely right it should be accessible and the fact that the reemote record option doesn't work from the screenreader version is crazy. Since terry's mail re left clicking etc, I have tried this, and it works well, but is clunky, so I won't be easing up on sky to fix the problem with the accessible tv listings on the sky website.-----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Spring.flower Sent: 17 November 2008 20:58 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Sky Plus Will someone please tell me more about this service as I've no idea about what you're talking about? is there an extra charge for this? Well you are kind of right here. For some reason if you try to remote record from the screenreader version of the TV guide it doesn't work, however if you do if from the normal TV guide which is accessibnle anyway it works just fine, you just have to left click the program then left click the remote record, then enter you the yes option. I use it several times a day and have no issues. ----- Original Message ----- From: "martin wilsher"<m.wilsher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, November 17, 2008 1:09 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Sky PlusThe problem is, as I have written in a previous message, the remote record feature on the website is busted for screen reader users. So I cannot remote record without texting. Watch this space to see if I get a response in the next week. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Terry Clasper Sent: 17 November 2008 10:50 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Sky Plus Thing is though that if you dont' want ot use the box directly recording stuff is very accessible either via sky.com and remote record or via texting. Personally I use a mix of Remote4 Record and Manual Record, the advantageof manual record being that you can specify the actual channel, so for example if I want ITV AD I can tell it to record from 993. I must say I was reluctant at first to get the box but now taht I have I can enjoy programs that I used to watch when I had the time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Darran Ross" <darran.ross@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Access-UK" <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, November 16, 2008 5:53 PM Subject: [access-uk] Sky PlusI agree 100% with Terry's sentiments. The Plus box is a crackin' piece of kit and I'd be lost without it, but the fact still remains that it is less than customer friendly from this lists point of view. Although I'll certainly put up with its little inaccessible ways as the over all product is a winner for me! Darran "It is not his creed nor his nationality which counts - it's the man himself."
