Hi,
I have been using one of those signature stamps for the last several years.
I got mine made by WH Smith. It is a self-ink stamp and easy to refill it.
I never had a problem with signing documents with it.

Thanks for this additional information, Pele. Perhaps signatures produced
in this way are
more widely acceptable than I had imagined. I will make some enquiries
before ordering
one though.

As I explained earlier my main problem is arthritis in my hand which,
coupled with lack of
sight, makes what I produce as a signature very unpredictable. If my wife
is around she
normally checks what I have produced and warns me if it is a poor attempt.
But in her
absence I have to just hope for the best.
