Thanks for this additional information, Pele.  Perhaps signatures produced in 
this way are 
more widely acceptable than I had imagined.   I will make some enquiries before 
ordering 
one though.

As I explained earlier my main problem is arthritis in my hand which, coupled 
with lack of 
sight, makes what I produce as a signature very unpredictable.   If my wife is 
around she 
normally checks what I have produced and warns me if it is a poor attempt.  But 
in her 
absence I have to just hope for the best.
