Hi Chris.
The software is part toolset and part activation. When you insert the
cd, you'll be guided through some screens to set up your connection and
services such as email, you'll also install diagnostic software and
probably be offered free trial security software which you can
optionally install. When the engineer leaves, the connection will be in
a pre-activated state. Hanna will have to complete the process on her
computer which needs to be connected via cable to the modem or supplied
router.
