Hi Clive

Yes it is sometimes really annoying, but as I know how to do it without
hearing JAWS, it works.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Brown

Hi Jackie,

I understand that, but some of the video clips of Ads which are thrust at
you by some of these sites are so loud, that you'd have to do this by rote,
as, when they play, you ain't gonna hear your speech say 'Do You Want To
Close all tabs'.or anything else for that matter.

So if I must pick up a file from Sendspace, I do it through Google Chrome.

Best,

Clive

Hi Clive

Agreed, but what you do is close the page, and tab once when prompted "Do
you want to close all tabs or the current tab?"  It is the current tab you
want to get rid of! I turn off Smartscreen because it drives me mad when I
want to save a file.

Kind Regards,

Hi all,

It just shows that though Sendspace is popular with many of us, it's not the
most secure file transfer facility out there. Turn SmartScreen Filter off to
get your files, but be prepared to be taken to more betting sites and online
casinos than you would want. Note also, that some of them play some
amazingly loud and long adverts on how you too could be a millionaire. These
could be hard to silence, as they are louder than most other sounds that
play on PC's including your screenreader.

Best,

Clive

Hi Andrew,

Some friends were having either the same problem you describe, or something
very similar some time ago, so I did a bit of Googling then, and came up
with the following information which may be of use to you now.

At the time I googled turning off smart Screen filter, and came up with the
following link:

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/bypass-smartscreen-filter-ie-edge

Admittedly it doesn't directly talk about turning the feature off, but it
does suggest a way to bypass it if you know the download is safe, so may be
of help
