I've tried some spam fighters and, due to the volume of mail I get from
lists, I found them rather tedious and time consuming.

Firstly, your ISP may well provide a spam filter. Check on their website, but many do now. I'm with plusnet and theirs is quite good, but some stuff gets through it.
If they are any good, they will block a lot anyway, and the rubbish will have the word spam put in front of it so you can use a rule to sort it into a spam folder to review when you want. Otherwise, you need to get into the realm of spam fighters, and I do not know of an accessible one, though I will be interested to hear of any.
