[access-uk] Re: SKY HD and recording

Hi Darran.

Funny enough, a month or so back, a list member advised that he had a video attached to his sky plus box, but when I made further enquiries on the list, I was told that the sky plus box had no scart sockets on it. So obviously, I was wrong and that's fine because I really do wish to have both video and DVD recording facilities. I saw an item on SKY about a Samsung Video/DVD player recorder for £198.00 and I really fancied getting this with my new TV. I was thinking of recording onto Video, programmes that I'd like to watch another day, and onto DVD the AD such as Steve McQueen's Bullet that was on 5 the other night. At present I have the standard digibox but was thinking of getting multiple room SKY, so my wife can watch in one room while I watch in another.

Do you know anything about the new HD digibox concerning connectivity or costs Darran? There would be no point in making enquiries about SKY Plus if I want to go onto HD later this year.

Andy, obviously I don't know who told you that you couldn't connect Sky Plus
to a recording device, but its simply not the case! I've got my Sky Plus box
connected to a DVD recorder and a VCR with absolutely no problems.
Recordings to the hard drive, DVD's and video cassette all operate as you'd
expect.
