Sky can be a total pain at times, our old analogue set up went belly up some
years back and when I phoned them to upgrade to digital they told me they
couldn't as I refused to give them a telephone number and they'd need the
number to update the box, I know you had to have a phone line in it, I then
told them I wanted to cancel my subscription, they told me I had to give
them a months notice, at that point I kicked off to some degree and finally
got put through to someone who knew what they were talking about, updates
come via the dish and not the phone line and we got the thing upgraded. The
thing that I found really strange was that when the guys came to upgrade it,
one of the men turned the old box on, fiddled with it and through came the
signal, the same happened to a good number of people I knew, some even
reckoned Sky were messing up the analogue signals to make people upgrade!!

Hi Trace.

No it was dry for once. I checked 5 again today and it's just the same.
Incidentally, I telephoned SKY to book an engineer about an hour ago and was
told that it was not possible to arrange a visit until March.

I mainly watch AD movies on 5 as there are very few of these on any of the
other channels, and I pay £25 a month for that. I decided to unsubscribe
from SKY and phoned them back. When I was asked why I wanted to quit SKY I
told them that amongst other things, I cannot get an engineer visit until
March. The guy told me that his computer had just crashed and volunteered
to phone me back. When he came back he said that I could get an engineer
out anytime this week, morning or afternoon. What do you think of that.
Anyway, I told him that I was no longer interested and requested that he
unsubscribe me. So that's me down and out as far as AD movies go. Hope I
have not cut off my nose to spite my face, hahaha.

Best wishes.
Andy
