[access-uk] Re: SKY AD not working

Hi again Peter.

I think that it may have something to do with going through Tellywest. He's paying £48.00 a month and gets all the music, sport and movies. I pay £15.00 and get none of the above, but I do get quite a lot on Channel 5 which is described. I think I'll advise him to leave Tellywest and go for SKY and get a disk. Okay, he gets his telephone also, but phoning the odd Taxi or Chinese is hardly worth it. I'd love to get all the movies because lots of them are AD, but £48.00 out of my Incapacity would not leave me much.

But surely if they are doing it channel by channel, that would imply that there is some AD at the moment, so why can my wife not change it from Off to On?

It is probably because the audio discription on telewest is only being rolled out slowly channel bychannel and I am not sure exactly how many channels are carrying it at present. I understand that it should be fully operational by sometime next year.

My sighted wife Pauline visited my vi brother today to set up the audio description option on his TV. Unfortunately, she advised that she was not able to uncheck the off and check the on option.

According to My brother, he is receiving SKY via Tellywest. He is paying £48.00 a month for the full package. Anyone any idea what is happening please as he would really love ad.
