Hi Ray, I think that when System Access supports Braille, and it will, then SA To Go will also support Braille, as it is essentially System Access downloaded to a temporary folder and run. All the best Steve -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ray's Home Sent: 21 June 2007 08:13 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: SA to Go - new online screenreader Steve, I did mull over the thought of Braille displays and the inpractability of carrying them around and plugging them into public computers. Clearly, Braille is really only an option for your own PC, or maybe one in an environment such as a college, vol org, or the like. So Braille will be a more theoretical rather than a practical possibility. But think about it, are you really going to walk into an Internet café with your Braille display? Remember folks, this is a kind of "throw away" version of SA, so that you can get quickie access. If you are going to connect up a Braille display, it is not going to be so quickie <Smile>. All the best Steve -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ray's Home Hi, I don't know the answer to whether SATOGO has Braille support, but I've a feeling if it hasn't it, or the Key should have before long as I believe it was on the list of improvements to System Access. Maybe Steve Nutt can be more definite. It is very early days as yet, but I'd have thought you might get to choose which speech engine the program uses, but this is one thing I'm very unsure about. Does this net based speech access program use speech synthesis located on the server? Or, how much does it rely on, say, SAPPI, or what's on the host machine? I simply don't know the answer to this.
