Hi Steve,
Have you now purchased NovaTalk yourself? I only ask as having used it for
several months day in day out, I can say categorically that it is not a set
of Dragon macros and in fact does not use them at all. I'm not versed in
the internals of the software, but for the features it offers I'd say it's
something more ingenious than that. I remember using Dragon macros a years
back when I first started using Dragon, and they did not offer even 10% of
the functionality that NovaTalk offer me. Indeed, for what I need NovaTalk
for given my medical condition, Dragon macros wouldn't offer me the features
I need.
Could I suggest that you perhaps visit the product website for more info.
Also, if you want to phone them they are very helpful and I'm sure will be
able to clarify what the software does.

Hi,
Yes, but what I meant by it only being a link, is it is not a stand-alone
app. It is purely a set of Dragon macros and Supernova scripts that give
you more productivity.

As a user of NovaTalk I have to say that whereas you are correct in part, it
is definitely more than purely a link between Dragon and SuperNova. Yes, it
allows me to control SuperNova by voice in an extremely flexible way, but
there are also so many other features which make using the computer more
efficient, save time, reduce the number of voice commands needed to complete
one action and generally improve productivity.
Although there is a medical justification for me using NovaTalk, even
putting this to one side I find working now more enjoyable and is much less
hassle than when I was simply using Dragon and SuperNova independently.

Hi Kevin,
It is purely a link between Dolphin Supernova and Dragon, that's why it is
called Novatalk.
If you have Jaws, you'd use J-Say.
Window-Eyes and NVDA don't have a link as far as I know.
