Can i ask one question about motherboard drivers please?

Just curious actually.

After having done a clean install. Would put on the motherboard drivers first or, WinXP (or any O.S. that was used before).

I'm asking as, I have a CD rom with a host of motherboard drivers for my 845PE motherboard I have.

Not that I really wanna do this sort of thing on my own as, i doubt I could cope with it. However, you never know what's around the corner.

all the best,

Justin

I would reformat drive c.

However, you want to make sure you have drivers for any important
components, e.g. monitor, modem/router whichever you use to connect to the
internet and any mother board drivers that may be needed.

Motherboard drivers, if needed, should have come with the PC or, if what you
have is a recovery disk, many of these drivers may be included.

If you do not have the drivers, you may want to download them and put them
on a cd before you format drive c.

Cheers

Subject: [access-uk] Re-installing XP Home

Hi All

I've done my back ups and all is sorted out so I'm now ready to do my clean
re-install. I went to the WinXP disc to Install Windows hoping it would give
me a format command. What it gave me was that I couldn't install because the
version I have is newer than my disc. I assume this is from the countless
critical updates I've installed. It then gave me all sorts of dire threats
of what I mustn't do.

I can see two options open to me. Uninstall all the updates which would
take forever and probably not work anyway. Or, more likely, do a format from
right clicking the mouse and then a straight install.

Comments and advice would be _most welcome here, please.

Roger

If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried
before.
