[access-uk] Re: Recording from reel to reel to a computer

You will need to get into the soundcard control panel and adjust the line input
of your soundcard. I think (although it has been literally a decade or more
since I last did this) that you may need to adjust the input gain down a little
as if I recall DIN interfaces at a slightly higher level than is common for
modern consumer electronic equipment, but your ears will be the best guide
anyway. A five pin DIN will be of the type described above but there are also
such things as as speaker output DIN sockets which are not five pin (I think
two), those will not give you a good signal.

  Tristram

What is the input gain and more importantly, where is this adjusted? I use
Total Recorder and could not see reference to this.

  Thanks

  Peter
