Hi Graham
When you say large batch scan are you referring to say scanning a whole book?
If so then the answer is yes. It also scans up to 30% faster (using a high speed Canon scanner).
The product is produced by John Ellis at Visionaid and the price is £1495.
(Approx £200 cheaper than other products on the market)

Regards
Colin

Hi Darren It might be worth looking at the ReadEasy machine produced by Visionaid Technologies.

" The ReadEasy uses the latest AT&T Natural voices for the highest quality
speech available with superb intonation.
Every ReadEasy comes with two high quality 8khz voices called Mike and
Crystal (American English Male and Female voices) plus one extremely high
quality lifelike voice (16khz) that can be chosen from a selection of three.
These are:

Audrey - British English Female Voice
Charles - British English Male Voice
Anjali - British Indian Female Voice "

Hi List.

I've been very happy with my Kurzweil Reading Edge, which has been in use
for about ten years now, but I'm thinking about a change as its getting a
bit clunky and will eventually give up the ghost!

I've had a look at the Portset reader and the Galileo from Robotron, but
was hoping someone could tell me what kind of speech they use? For
example, is the Portset model using similar speech to their Talking
Teletext units?

Regards.

Darran
