Hi Damon, There already is an excellent accessible RSS reader. It is called News Aloud, and is from http://www.nextup.com. Sandra, you should know this one, as it is the same people who do Weather Aloud. But take a look at News Aloud. You can have it loaded in the background, and read all the RSS feeds as they are updated, using your favourite SAPI engine, or using your screen reader, you can scroll the headlines, hit control-W and you are straight on the web site concerned. Truly a kool RSS reader is this one. All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. We're currently developing an RSS feed for the weblog on my website www.bbc.co.uk/ouch/weblog/ I think an accessible RSS agregator could really help visually impaired people edit the net down to manageable proportions and make everything much easier to read. Basically you create a list of your favourite sites. When they update, your RSS reader program updates too. So you get the very latest stuff from all your favourite websites all on one page ... Put simply. The BBC has such a feed as do Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph I think. Perhaps Sandra will correct me if I have got this wrong. douglas On 17 Feb 2005 at 8:31, Mark Threadgold wrote: > What is an RSS reader please? > > -- Douglas Harrison ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq http://www.bbc.co.uk/ This e-mail (and any attachments) is confidential and may contain personal views which are not the views of the BBC unless specifically stated.
