[access-uk] ROUTERS REVISITED!

Hi all,
I'd like to ask another question about routers and, in particular about
those suitable for Cable (Virgin Media) and those you need for BT/DSL.
I didn't know that the bulk standard router (recommended so highly by Steve
and which I love) was not suitable for another person's needs and of course
went ahead and recommended it . . . and nobody made comments about its
suitability . . ..
Please enlighten me, so that I don't fall into that trap again. Tell me how
people know which routers they can use and something about the difference -
but please keep it simple because that's how I operate!
