Hi Jackie I understand that the RNIB set top box differs very slightly from the one sold by Curry's, in that the RNIB box beeps when you change channel and beeps twice when it detects an audio described programme. But that's not much for your extra 20 quid. I've also been on to TVonics who have told me how to switch off the auto shutdown ffeature that prevents you from recording with a video or DVD recorder more than a few hours in advance. I haven't tried it yet but I'm assuming it works. Of course it requires sighted assistance, which I haven't got at the moment. Just bear in mind then guys that it's cheaper from Currys (smile). I'm pretty sure the TVonics STB is the same beast as the Logic box - I found an article on RicAbilities site reviewing the unit saying it is sold under both names by different suppliers - I tried mail TVonics at that time to see if they had a price and date of availability but got no joy but looks like the RNIB offering is the answer. Then, more recently, I thought I read here that RNIB were selling this same box for a bit more than that, around £70 I thought I saw. Well, in the latest issue of RNIB's Access IT mag, they are advertising two Freeview boxes, both supporting AD. One is the TV-Onics MFR300 (product number TV02), costing £70.49. The other is the TV-Onics MDR300 (product number TV01), costing £82.24). The difference is that the more expensive of the two gives an audible bleep when you change channels, and a double audible bleep when AD is available. Now for my question. Is the Logik Freeview box also being sold by RNIB, or did I get it wrong, and the above devices from TV-Onics are additional Freeview products to their range? I would happily ring Customer Services, but they don't always know the latest information, as they are often quick to point out. Jackie Email: cairnsplace@xxxxxxx Skype Name: Cairnsplace
