I think it is a JAWS feature, simply because it uses the insert key.  There
are other ways of getting to lists of symbols, but this function makes it
very easy, although the list is not very long.

mistake a lot of us make.  It surely is a windows feature.  The reason why I

raised this point originally is because I want to transcribe some cookery 
recipes from Braille to the computer.
