Sorry to reply to my own message yet again, but following my last message I thought it would be helpful to those who may be able to assist me if I inform the list that I did a search through earlier messages on this list and found a message from Mandy Palmer with a subject line of Abby net scanning software which lead me to a URL provided by Robert stokes on the same thread of messages. I was able to modify that URL and reach a part of the Abbeyy site where I was able to download a try and buy version of Abbeyy finereader, however what I am not certain of now is whether I now have no choice but to buy online.

Please could someone confirm this.
