Yes the Radio Player is what loads when you listen to a programme, it is
actually using Real Player in the background although the Real Player Window
itself is not displayed. Basically, if you visit the Radio Player home page
at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod
You can then select the radio station you want to listen to. This brings up
a page with a number of sections, highlighting popular (i.e. most
listened-to) programmes and forthcoming highlights. It also contains an
alphabetical list of everything you can listen to from that radio station.
The best way to find a particular programme is to use your JAWS Find feature
in Internet Explorer, so in your case you would type "Album Chart", into the
JAWS Find Dialogue box and press Enter. All Being well, this will land you
straight on the link you need and all you then have to do is press enter to
play the audio. I think the BBC is encouraging its listeners to use the
Radio Player, as it allows them to promote programmes across different
networks by for example allowing you to serach for shows across all stations
in a particular category. It also saves the web team of each station having
to "reinvent the wheel", and come up with their own "Listen Again", or as
they tend to call it now, "Audio On Demand" system.

Hi James.
The Radio Player? Is that not the one that automatically loads when I listen to a bbc radio program? Or is it something like Winamp that I need to download from thebbc?

Hi Andy
As I've said before, I really think you would be better off using the BBC Radio Player, it's far easier to use than the "listen again" pages and the audio is exactly the same. This will give you the added benefit of being able to use the same interface to access all of the BBC's radio on line, without haivng to cope with how each station displays its Listen Again web pages and links. Here is the direct link to the programme you want:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/networks/radio2/aod.shtml?radio2/albumchart
(make sure it doesn't wrap over two lines).
I have just tested it and can hear the audio without any problems, so if it doesn't work then it is probably an issue on your end, and it's far more likely to be something to do with real player or your internet connection than with JAWS. The main problem that might occur with JAWS would be the software somehow not recognising that you are on a link and so not activating it properly, but from what you say, it seems that this is happening as expected.
I hope this has helped.
best wishes
James

Subject: [access-uk] Problems with Listen Again
Hi all.
Can someone please check out the BBc's Radio 2 page at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/albumchart/ and click on the link titled "Listen Again." The link is simply making a click sound when I press enter on it. I've been trying this link all week and now feel that I have a problem at my end with JAWS.
Thanks.
Best wishes. Andy
