Hi,

Further to my last message, this is now resolved, albeit differently to that
intended. I re-installed Windows XP SP2 and will probably recommend a
format and re-install of the entire OS with SP3 slipstreamed into it. Due
to the extremely stripped down nature of the OS (the original installation
CD image was only 190MB) and as there must have been some change to the
install routine of SP3, it no longer installs on my system probably due to
some required internal prerequisites not being there in the first place.

Roll on the weekend when I can really get into this but for now just going
to check the internet is working and leave it at that - bedtime's a'calling,
me thinks!
