Eleanor, sounds unlikely that MSE would cause a problem like that, as it is usually pretty easy-going. You don't by any chance have another anti-malware program running? It might be an idea to switch it off if you have.

Have you updated anything else lately, such as your screen reader?

Have you done a cleanup lately with something like CCleaner? If not, that might help.

This is all sheer guesswork, of course.

Vince.

Subject: [access-uk] Problem with Computer Freezing for A Second at a Time

Hi
I have a problem developed only recently. I can be reading a word document or an e-mail or even writing and the computer freezes for a second or two, then all is well. However this keeps happening. Now you could say maybe I have a problem with my computer but it has started happening on another computer too. the only thing I can think of is that I have started using MSE on both computers and more or less at the same time. Might something be updating and causing this freeze? I am wondering if I should remove MSE to see if it resolves the problem.
