Thanks for the tip, will try to find a pair of eyes to check for me, I know
that all the letters of my routers' key security code are in lower case as I
specifically asked for this info when a kind soul dictated it to me.
Can I set this from the PC through the IPod settings I wonder, another avenue to
try...Not giving up on this yet...As for subscribing to the hotspots around
here...the information is quite difficult to find but I'll persevere.
Cheers now
Marie

Hi, if I remember rightly I know my iphone automatically puts a capital
letter at the start of the password, but not the rest of the characters and
most of the router default security keys are in capitals so check that.

Subject: [access-uk] Problem connecting my new Ipod using WIFI
I can type the security key in the right place in the appropriate menu on the
device without problem but get the message unable to connect. I've checked the
WIFI switch is on on the IPod, checked with a sighted person that my Braille
version of the security key is correct and WIFI is enabled on the router as I
use this without problem with my laptop.
The IPod can see 2 other WIFI networks, both unsecured, one identified as
SFR my internet provider and the other just called a public hotspot. However,
when I try to connect they both require a username and password.
Can't these sort of hotspot be used free of charge, is this the type found in
airports and train stations? Has anyone got a clue why I can't connect to the
router?
any pointers/comments more than welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers now,
Marie
