[access-uk] Re: Power Braille on Windows 7 X64 with Jaws 12

You can admittedly install a card in a desktop and use a standard 25 way cable
but for laptop user's or those who do not have the wherewithal to locate and
install add-on cards it is isn't a goer.

Tristram says:

"There is absolutely no way you can make JAWS and the old Powerbraille
play together on Windows 7 64bit. There are some people both in the
United States and the UK also using a special build of JAWS 12.0 for
Windows XP with their old display using serial ports and those are
the people Derek is referring to, they are not using Windows 7.0 64bit."

And a user on another list says:

"The only thing about the Powerbraille is that it has parallel and
serial ports, not USB ports. If you cannot do this yourself, you will
need to get some help and install a PCI card and parallel port on
your computer. There is also a version of Jaws 12 for a serial port
as well, but I do not know how it works. Like Ruth, I have Jaws 12,
for a 64 bit computer with Windows 7.

Like Jeff said, you should ask for a cable from Freedom Scientific, as
they recommend that you use their special heavy duty cables. Good luck,
and let us know how it works out."

And I have waited over year for help but nobody in UK seems to know how to
set up.

So I think it's case of some in US are geting the right supoort,
Directly from FS.
