The answer is sometimes. If it is something straightforward it reads the
names, but if the spelling is difficult it spells them. At least, I am
pretty sure that is the case. I do not have the player with me to check at
the moment.

David, that does sound very good about those Sonsa players. Out of interest
though, does Rockbox now read file names? I remember when I last checked
quite a while back that Rockbox did not have a TTS engine, thus, it reads
file names letter by letter. Is that still the case?
