Hi, you're obviously on a very good connection there! It depends on your
priorities really. Web browsing is not affected, but things like p2p etc
are, so whether file downloads from there would count I don't know.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave - Are you on Broadband your way? They have what they call 'no
restriction' before 2 pm, after that there are those reduced speeds. I can
currently download an 80mb title from Audible in less than 10 minutes, I'd
hate to lose this kind of speed! -

| Hi, I really do doubt you'd notice any difference, and of course the 15
gig
| limit means you can pretty much download anything and listen to some
| internet radio while you're waiting lol! I find download speeds limited by
| the server I'm downloading from rather than by plusnet to be honest.

|
| Hi all -
|
| I currently have what Plusnet called a pay as you go 2GB download per
month
| account. For the same monthly charge, I can opt for what they call
| 'Broadband Your Way' with a 15GB download monthly allowance! This sounds
| good on the face of it, but I'm wondering if it will mean slower speeds.
| I've had a look at and tried to make sense of the expected down stream and
| upstream speeds for different times of the day, and I'm not sure if I'll
| notice a difference between them, and what I currently experience.
Firstly,
| I'm not sure how to check what current down stream and up stream speeds I
| get, but in the new package, they talk of download streams of between 256
| and 320, at the busier times of the day, but these numbers are also
affected
| by what is being downloaded; the upstream speed is generally 128.
|
| Is anybody on this list using Broadband Your Way, and able to share their
| experience of it with us? Or in a general way, can anybody say if the
above
| speeds are adequate for larger downloads of music and audio books?
|
| Thanks for any input -
|
| Andy
